 THE CAPTAIN
Michael Walker

I've been fishing all my life, ever since I can remember, from three years old on my grandfather's boat fishing for crappie, bass, and catfish in his lake to flounder gigging on my dad's boat in Port O'Connor, TX. Fishing is not just my job, it's my passion.

After serving four honorable years and sailing around the Pacific and Indian Oceans in the U.S. Navy, I landed my first job deep-sea fishing while I was in college as a deckhand on a party/head boat, the Kingfisher in Port Aransas, TX. I moved over to a private charter and sportfishing boats after a couple of years and eventually got my Captain's license (100 ton Master).

I lived and worked in Port Aransas for 5 years and my first boss there helped me get my first full-time job as a Captain here in South Padre Island and Port Isabel.

I've fished all over the Gulf of Mexico from Tampico, Mexico to Venice, Louisiana, Florida Keys, as well as Hawaii, the Pacific coast of Mexico and Costa Rica. I've run a variety of boats from 16' to 68' fishing boats and some crew boats over 100'.
